The I-REC Day Japan 2026 brings together experts, business leaders, energy professionals, and sustainability stakeholders to discuss the latest developments in renewable energy attribute tracking and the role of I-REC in Japan’s energy transition.

The event will also feature a pre-conference program on October 15, followed by networking opportunities for participants to exchange perspectives and build connections across the renewable energy and sustainability sectors.
The I-TRACK Foundation’s Executive Director, Jared Braslawsky, will deliver the keynote address, “The Future Led by I-REC: Global Attribute Tracking Standards,” highlighting the growing importance of internationally recognized attribute tracking systems in supporting transparent and credible energy markets.
The Japanese Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) market is arguably more complex than many other markets where I-REC(E) is available, due to the presence of multiple certificate systems: Green Electricity Certificates (GEC), J-Credits, Non-Fossil Certificates (NFC), and I-REC(E). Since its introduction to the Japanese market in 2023, the I-REC(E) has attracted increasing attention from companies and municipalities seeking internationally recognized mechanisms to demonstrate renewable electricity consumption. As expectations around greenhouse gas accounting and environmental standards continue to evolve, robust and transparent attribute tracking is becoming increasingly important for organizations pursuing credible decarbonization strategies.
The I-REC Day Japan 2026 will explore these developments from both global and domestic perspectives, including the current and future role of attribute certificates in Japan, the potential application of attribute tracking to low-carbon gases, and how attribute certificates can support the acceleration of renewable energy deployment.
