Benjamin Herrera Vergara
Benjamin is the Regional Director of Latin and South America for the I-TRACK Foundation, supporting market players from Mexico to Chile and Argentina. He is an electricity market professional with 15 years of experience advising investors, utilities, regulators, and multilateral entities. Benjamin holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Chile and a master’s in finance from Cambridge University.

Can Arlsan
Can is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Director of Foton Energy, the local I-REC(E) Issuer in Turkey. He started his career in corporate credits & internal audit positions in the banking industry, then worked as a power & gas trader in the energy industry. Foton has worked with Energy Web to develop a blockchain-based I-REC platform, which was implemented in 2021.

Dirk Van Evervooren
Dirk Van Evercooren is an independent strategic energy adviser and founder of 2 Degrees Energy (2degNRG). With more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector, he is committed to supporting the transition to a more sustainable and climate-friendly energy system. He also serves as Chair of the Board of the International Tracking Standards Foundation (I-TRACK Foundation).
Before establishing 2 Degrees Energy, Dirk spent over 18 years at the Flemish Regulator of the Electricity and Gas Market (VREG, now VNR), where he held the position of Director of Market Operations. During this period, he also represented VREG within key European organisations, including the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) and the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER).
From November 2020 until February 2024, Dirk was Managing Director of Organisation for Sustainable Energy in Flanders (ODE Vlaanderen), where he helped advance the development of renewable energy and sustainable energy solutions. He also served as a member of the Antwerp Climate Council, contributing to local climate policy and strategic initiatives.
Today, Dirk combines his extensive regulatory, market and policy experience to advise organisations on energy transition, sustainability and market development
Doug Miller
Doug Miller
Doug is a systems entrepreneur focused on making the global energy transition faster, easier, and accessible. He serves as a trusted advisor for corporate sustainability and energy teams and as an expert contributor to various industry standards bodies. He is also a clean tech startup founder, angel and VC investor, and mentor for early-stage startups and students.
With 15 years of experience, Doug has developed numerous clean energy industry-shaping innovations, initiatives, publications, and tools in his roles at nonprofits RMI, Corporate Energy Buyers Association (CEBA), Energy Web, and Energy Peace Partners. He co-founded the traceability software startup Zero Labs and serves on two startup advisory boards. He received the 2024 Green Power Leadership Award for Leadership in Education for his contributions to the sector.
Doug holds degrees with top academic honors and multiple departmental awards from Imperial College London and the University of Pennsylvania for his research on applying behavioral economics to scale the adoption of environmental solutions.

Ed Everson
Ed is now working as an independent consultant for the I-TRACK Foundation.
Ed is the former CEO of Evident. With over 25 years of experience in energy and environmental markets, he was a participant in the RECS Test Phase from 1998, a founding member of the Association of Issuing Bodies in 2002, and a national representative for several countries until 2015, advisor to the UK Government on the Renewables Obligation, and advisor to the European Commission on the Guarantee of Origin.
A former director with multinational engineering and environmental consultants Ramboll, Ed has also been Chief Finance Officer for many power project developers and advised businesses, banks, and governments on energy markets and project viability. As advisor or operator, he has been responsible for the implementation of verification services for renewable energy production in over 20 countries outside of Europe.

Fernando G. Lopes
Fernando Giachini Lopes is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Instituto Totum. Fernando has played a pivotal role in designing and leading pioneering self-regulatory and certification programs across the energy, safety, food, finance, and greenhouse gas (GHG) verification sectors. His work has contributed significantly to strengthening market transparency, credibility, and sustainability practices in Brazil and beyond.
A recognised leader in renewable energy certification, Fernando has been instrumental in the introduction and expansion of the I-REC for electricity (I-REC(E)) in Brazil, with Instituto Totum serving as the local Issuer for more than a decade. Under his leadership, hundreds of renewable energy facilities have been registered, and millions of certificates have been issued, helping to accelerate the country’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.
Fernando is also the creator and leader of GAS-REC, Brazil’s largest voluntary certification scheme for biogas and biomethane traceability. The program has earned international recognition from the I-TRACK Foundation, leading to the appointment of Instituto Totum and Evident’s collaborative organisation, GreenGasTracking, as the Code Manager for the I-TRACK for biogas and biomethane Product Code, the I-TRACK(G) Code. Widely regarded as a thought leader in energy certification, renewable energy attributes, and environmental markets, Fernando was repeatedly named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Brazil’s Energy Sector by Full Energy magazine between 2019 and 2022.
