The I-TRACK Foundation mentioned in Thailand’s first Utility Green Tariff (UGT) platform launch

The I-TRACK Foundation was mentioned in national Thai media coverage following the launch of Thailand’s first Utility Green Tariff (UGT) Platform by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), as reported by the Bangkok Post.

The UGT Platform is a national mechanism designed to enable corporate electricity consumers in Thailand to procure renewable electricity bundled with Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), supporting credible Scope 2 emissions reduction claims and the country’s broader Net Zero transition.

As highlighted in the article, the UGT Platform operates under internationally recognized energy attribute tracking principles, with certification aligned with the I-TRACK Foundation’s International Attribute Tracking Standard (Standard).

EGAT’s UGT platform represents an important milestone in the expansion of market-based renewable electricity procurement in Thailand, integrating utilities, regulators, and corporate users through a structured and traceable system for clean energy claims.

The I-TRACK Foundation welcomes the continued development of national platforms such as UGT that strengthen the integrity, transparency, and interoperability of renewable energy certificate systems across markets.
