*Since the date of this news item’s publication, the organization ‘The International REC Standard Foundation’ has changed to ‘The International Tracking Standard Foundation: Founder of I-REC (I-TRACK Foundation).’
On 18 May 2023, the I-REC Standard was pleased to present together with the Deputy Mayor of Yancheng City and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Binhai Port Industrial Park Management Office, Gao Shangde, the Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Energy Bureau, Tang Heyin, the Chairman of the China Shipbuilding Industry Association, Guo Dacheng, and the General Manager of Jiangsu Electric Power Design Institute, Li Gang, among other high-level leaders during an event in Yancheng.
During the event, the Executive Director of the I-REC Standard, Jared Braslawsky, presented the importance of our cooperation with the Huanghai New Area and of internationally standardized and recognized attribute tracking mechanisms. Through his video presentation, Jared confirmed: “the Zero Carbon Industrial Park in Huanghai New Area is officially cooperating on the use of robust tracking mechanisms together with the I-REC Standard.”
Bohlen, the I-REC Standard China National Director, furthered this by stating that, “decarbonization of products has clearly become a new requirement for global trade. Huanghai New Area, the I-REC Standard, and China Energy Engineering Group Jiangsu Electric Power Design Institute will combine their extensive resources, professional knowledge, and domestic and international experience to create more green power certification options for power production enterprises and green power certificate users in Huanghai New Area, Yancheng City, and East China.”
The I-REC Standard is proud to have been included in the conference and to share the stage with such influential and forward-thinking Chinese industry leaders. The organization is always focused on opportunities to cooperate with local governments and support each other in implementing robust and well-designed attribute tracking mechanisms.
