The I-TRACK Foundation Board has approved the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) as the local I-REC(E) Issuer in Kenya.

Kenya’s Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has been approved as the local Issuer of I-REC(E) in Kenya. The EPRA is responsible for economic and technical regulation of the energy and petroleum sectors in Kenya including the technical regulation of renewable energy through the development and implementation of regulations.  

Now that the EPRA has been finalized as an Issuer, it will be taking over the role that the Green Certificate Company (GCC) held in Kenya. The transition will allow for the EPRA to take over currently registered devices and will allow for future device registrations and certificate issuance.
