State Grid Integrated Energy Service Group Co., Ltd (SGES) becomes I-REC(E) Issuer in China

*Since the date of this news item’s publication, the organization ‘The International REC Standard Foundation’ has changed to ‘The International Tracking Standard Foundation: Founder of I-REC (I-TRACK Foundation).’

The International REC Standard Foundation (Foundation), State Grid Integrated Energy Service Group Co., Ltd (SGES), and Evident Ev. Limited (Evident) signed a Local Issuer Agreement on 28 November 2023, with all entities now making I-REC(E) available to energy producers and consumers effectively immediately.

The State Grid Integrated Energy Service Company aims at the strategic and innovative development of integrated energy services and has rich business experience in EACs, RECs, and other fields.

The operating area of the State Grid covers 26 provinces (including autonomous regions and municipalities), of which the power supply range accounts for almost 88% of the country with a population of over 1.1 billion. This cooperation will enable all generators in these regions, and all energy end users in China, to use the internationally recognized I-REC for their energy and carbon reporting and synchronize with the expanding requirements of global trade. SGES will integrate this into its infrastructure and user base, seamlessly allowing market participants to use domestic or international reporting systems for energy tracking.

The I-REC Standard Foundation is pleased to announce the cooperation with SGES and looks forward to servicing market participants in tracking energy and carbon in China.
