*Since the date of this news item’s publication, the organization ‘The International REC Standard Foundation’ has changed to ‘The International Tracking Standard Foundation: Founder of I-REC (I-TRACK Foundation).’
The I-REC Standard will be participating in the 2nd edition of the Renewable Energy Revenues Summit in London, England from 6-7 June 2023. The I-REC Standard will be represented by Regional Director, Oleg Dobrovolsky.
Oleg will be speaking during the session, “Gaining Value from Energy Attribute Certificates,” which focuses on Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) and offer the possibility of 24/7 carbon-free energy and new revenue streams by trading them. This session aims to educate the audience on such opportunities through discussions on the following topics:
- Demystifying terminology: EACs, RECs, REGOs, etc.
- How more granular certificates would impact carbon accounting.
- The liquidity of different types of certificates.
- The differences for trading EACs in the EU, UK, and global markets.
- How to acquire EACs.
- How to factor in the value of energy attribute certificates into PPA negotiation.
- The value of EACs to energy buyers.
Oleg will be joined by several industry-leading experts such as Adam White, Secretary-General of RECS Energy Certificate Association (previously RECS International), and Liesbeth Switten, Secretary-General of the AIB.
