*Since the date of this news item’s publication, the organization ‘The International REC Standard Foundation’ has changed to ‘The International Tracking Standard Foundation: Founder of I-REC (I-TRACK Foundation).’
The I-REC Standard Foundation (I-REC Standard) will be attending the first I-REC Day Brazil. The event takes place in São Paulo on 9 March 2023. It will bring together the major players in the I-REC(E) market including registrants, participants, end-users, and regulatory agencies.
Both Jared Braslawsky, Executive Director of the I-REC Standard Foundation and Benjamín Herrera Vergara, the Regional Director of LATAM for the I-REC Standard will speak at the event.
Benjamín will present during the “I-REC as Decarbonization Strategy and ESG panel.” In this panel, Benjamin will focus on the role of I-RECs in decarbonization strategies and NetZero, within ESG requirements, together with carbon market experts and companies such as Way Carbon, GHG Protocol, COMERC, and Furnas.
Jared will present during the “Future Vision of EAC Markets (Energy Attribute Certificates)” panel. This panel will have national and foreign experts who will address the innovations planned and already underway in the energy certificate market such as I-REC Hydrogen Certification, I-RECs with hourly granularity (24/7), ways of obtaining real-time measurement data, and the use of marketplaces to optimize commercialization.
