ICX is now the local I-REC(E) Issuer in India

The I-TRACK Foundation Board has approved ICX as the local I-REC(E) Issuer in India. ICX is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), which has been India’s leading Power Trading Exchange for more than 16 years.

“ICX, a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), was established to provide services and to implement solutions for the development of efficient and transparent markets for the Environmental Attribute Certificates and for Environmental Commodities. Leveraging the rich experience of more than 16 years of IEX operating a regulated Power Trading Exchange in India, ICX is well positioned to provide effective and convenient services for I-REC(E) issuance and for new device registration and existing device renewal in India.”

From 1 September 2024, the devices already registered with the Green Certificate Company (GCC) will have the option to transfer over to the new Issuer (ICX). As of 16 September 2024, Registrants will need to register new devices in India with ICX and will need to enter into agreements directly with ICX.
