•• Conference Day 1 - Tuesday, 26 January 2027

Global commodity trade and environmental attribute markets are increasingly interconnected. Steel, aluminum, hydrogen, and a growing range of commodities are now being transacted with consideration for embedded emissions and evolving regulatory requirements.

This opening keynote sets out the strategic context for the conference, taking a fresh outlook on how decarbonized commodity markets are developing and what governance anarchitecture are required to support them. It will outline the role of the I-TRACK Foundation in enabling credible attribute tracking across jurisdictions and sectors.

Cross-border electricity trade is growing rapidly, and EACs are following suit. Yet not all transactions are created equal, and navigating these markets requires clarity and coordination. This session will explore how countries and companies are collaborating to scale cross-border energy transactions effectively. Participants will gain practical insight into how to transact between markets and how to support regulatory developments among willing trade partner economies.

This session examines the dynamic EAC market landscape of Türkiye and Central Asia, highlighting the rapid developments of renewable energy deployment and attribute tracking systems across the region. Discussions will focus on emerging opportunities, regional integration efforts, and the specific challenges associated with developing I-REC(E) markets in transitioning economies. Attention will be given to understand how policy shifts and cross-border cooperation are unlocking new potential for these unique markets.

As regulation and disclosure frameworks evolve, accurate accounting of electricity use and its embedded emissions has become increasingly important for corporate reporting and international trade. This session examines developments in the GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance, ISO standards for emissions accounting, and emerging regulatory requirements such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Speakers will explore how the I-REC(E) can serve as a robust and verifiable instrument, supporting credible claims under voluntary accounting standards while providing evidence of energy sourcing to help navigate embedded emissions pricing on European imports, from GHG Protocol and ISO standards through to CBAM recognition.

Mining is at the core of the energy transition. This panel will examine how securing minerals for an electrified world, under increasingly stringent standards, is impacting the entire supply chain. Evolving procurement and regulatory requirements are reshaping the approach of traditionally fossil fuel-intensive industries to electricity sourcing and the broader goal of replacing the emissions caused by fossil fuels. Participants will hear from industry experts and global leaders on major initiatives driving the adoption of sustainable mining practices.

Coffee Break

This session will examine how reporting framework guidance is creating new opportunities for vendors. With demand now 25 times greater than corporate load, supply chains are emerging center stage as a core end-user category.

Participants in this session will have the opportunity to explore strategies for engaging these stakeholders while addressing new requirements such as 24/7 matching, timestamping, and sourcing liquidity.   This session will equip participants with practical insights to capture emerging, large-scale opportunities in next-generation environmental attribute markets.

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is at a pivotal moment in its energy transition, with regulators playing a central role in shaping credible market frameworks. This session will focus on the tools and frameworks necessary to support regulatory bodies as they establish and refine renewable energy certificate markets. Case studies and regional perspectives will illustrate pathways to build transparent, credible, and scalable regulatory environments across the Middle East and North Africa.

Global energy and trade policies are increasingly intersecting with environmental commodities, deepening ties between regulatory oversight and environmental markets. Regulatory developments may enhance certainty and market stability, but others can create new risks for industry stakeholders.

The roundtable session will assess critical changes taking place, identify governance gaps, and consider opportunities for policymakers and market participants to strengthen the integrity and stability of voluntary and compliance markets.

•• Conference Day 2 - Wednesday, 27 January 2027

Understanding market data is essential for strategic decision-making. Dive into the data that drives the market.

This session provides a comprehensive analysis of I-REC(E) volumes, demand trends, and pricing dynamics across key regions. Discussions will address and interpret the latest market signals, supply-demand balance, and the economic factors influencing EAC value across markets. Participants will gain valuable insights into market liquidity and future pricing trajectories, essential for strategic planning.

Biogas and biomethane represent one of the most competitive options for decarbonizing the gas sector. With a wide network of waste and agricultural biogas production facilities globally, this panel will focus on the recently launched biogas certification I-TRACK(G), highlighting pioneering certified projects and regions that are already leveraging these certificates to promote biogas and biomethane adoption. Participants will learn how biogas and biomethane are being produced, used, and reported by companies worldwide, in line with both national regulations and voluntary market guidance.

How do national regulations align with global climate commitments? This session examines the interplay between domestic energy policies and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement. Participants will explore how the I-TRACK Foundation and its accredited frameworks can support national climate goals, prevent double-counting, and provide the transparent data needed for countries to track progress and strengthen their climate ambition.

EAC instruments and markets are evolving from niche, voluntary tools to fundamental, mandatory elements for global trade and reporting. As their value and importance grow, discussions around governance, use, and linkage, such as cross-border trade, granularity, and interoperability, are intensifying, especially in the context of CBAM legislation and GHGP updates.

This closing session will examine the fundamental principles of EAC tracking that remain essential for documenting the origin and ownership of attributes, and what changes are needed to create a user-friendly, globally recognized, high-quality solution for future public and private stakeholder needs.
