The I-TRACK Foundation has approved a request from Evident, an Xpansiv company and the Registry Operator for I-REC(E), to change how I-REC(E) statistics are presented in the monthly overview.
Until July 2026, we published each issuance and redemption activity as a separate row. After 10 years of rapid growth in I-REC(E) markets, the total number of rows became too large, and change was unavoidable.
To maintain sufficient market insight and transparency into historical market activities, minimal changes were made to how the statistics are presented from July 1st onwards, keeping nearly everything identical except for aggregating certain rows. In the new format, rows are aggregated in the ‘issuances tab’ when they match exactly on issuance date, vintage, commissioning date bracket, country, technology, and project capacity bracket. For the ‘redemptions tab’, rows are aggregated when the redemption date, vintage, issuance country and beneficiary location, and technology match. The number of issuance and redemption activities is still visible through a new column called ‘transaction count’, which indicates how many individual issuance or redemption activities are aggregated in that row.
This new format has already reduced the number of rows by several hundred thousand while losing very little market insight. If you have questions about the new format, please reach out to us at secretariat@trackingstandard.org
